About Girls Run The World

Girls Run the World is a 501 (c) (3) girls empowerment program ran by the Aurora Police Department and currently services three high schools in Aurora,IL: Metea Valley High (Be Your Own You), East Aurora High (Soul Sisters), and West Aurora High (Sisters United).Girls Run The World:


  • offers coping skills, conflict resolution skills, educational mentoring, and leadership elevation to it’s participants.
  • addresses topics such as teen dating violence, bullying/cyberbullying, self esteem and confidence issues, properly dealing with different emotions, building and maintaining healthy relationships, learning personal strengths, and proper physical self care.  
  • demonstrates leadership by helping charities raise money, collecting clothing and shoes for those in need, volunteering at supportive living communities, and giving back to the community in other ways.

Mission

The ladies of Girls Run The World have a common goal of becoming great leaders amongst their peers. Participants desire to become change agents within their neighborhoods in an effort to mentor the next generation of young ladies. Together, they will showcase how GIRLS RUN THE WORLD!
